5th Annual Southern Harvest Half, 5k, 1.6 mile walk takes place on November 13 from Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Williamson, WV. The event begins at 9am for the half marathon and the 5k/1.6 mile walk begins at 9:05am.
Fast course with elevation gains that travels through both states of West Virginia and Kentucky. There is a turnaround for the half at around 7.5 miles and returns back to the start. The 5k and 1.6 mile walk is a very fast, flat course that travels along the flood wall and Tug Fork River and turns around at 1.55 mile and back to the college for the finish.
Formerly the "Darn You Covid, Darn You, 24hr Endurance Challenge," this year's race is part of the running festival. The course runs along a 2.05 looped course in front of college and the back side of the floodwall facing the Tug Fork River. Do as many laps possible in 24hrs. We will also have a 3-person relay team. Participants will be wearing chips timing on their shoe to track mileage. Food and hydration will be available throughout the 24hrs. The race begins at 7pm Saturday night to Sunday Night, 7pm. Camping and setting up your tent is available for participants.
