Hatfield McCoy Marathon races

Marathon

Begins at Food City, 28093 Thompson Plaza, South Williamson, KY 41503  and finishes in Downtown Williamson, WV, on 2nd Ave. 


Racers will run by historic feud sites along the course such as Randolph McCoy's birthplace and Well, Hog Trial Cabin, Paw Paw Trees, Aunt Betty's House, and Rosanna's baby gravesite. At mile 6.5, you run up Blackberry Mountain to the top and run down to the other side to the Hog Trial Cabin.   

Run along the Matewan Flood wall path as you cross through a neighborhood and hit route 49, running behind Downtown Matewan. You run along River Road for a few miles until you reach the access to the golf course. You will run along the golf cart path and run by the Swinging bridge. Keep following the path to the clubhouse and you will connect back into Kentucky for the next 6 miles and end in Downtown Williamson for the marathon finish. The race runs through Kentucky and West Virginia several times due to the direction of the Tug Fork River. The course will be fully stock with the best waterstop volunteers in the world.

The race is so unique that you have the choice to count it for either WV or KY.

Blackberry Mountain Half Marathon

Begins at Food City, 28093 Thompson Plaza, South Williamson, KY 41503  and finishes in Downtown Matewan, WV in front of City Hall.


Run through the historic Feud Sites, Coal Camp homes, conquer Blackberry Mountain and end in Historic Matewan.


Race Start: 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 13.


Start line Address - Food City, 28093 Thompson Plaza, South Williamson, KY 41503 


Finish line address - Matewan City Hall -  Historic District, 306 Mc Coy Alley, Matewan, WV 25678 


The race is so unique that you have the choice to count it for either WV or KY.

No time limit. 

River Road half marathon

 
Begins in Downtown Matewan, WV and finishes in Downtown Williamson, WV.


The race begins in Historic Matewan at the Matewan United Methodist Church. You run along River Road for a few miles until you reach the access to the golf course. Jeannie Rivard 5k

Down and back course that starts from  Downtown Williamson in front of Starters Restaurant. The course runs along US 119 south and crosses near Dairy Queen to the 1.55 turnaround point and back into Downtown Williamson for the finish. Very flat and fast course.


Race Start: 7:45am on Saturday, June 13.
